The final phase of a series of actions begun during a
residence within the heart of the industrial wasteland in which the Kugler
space is situated, this installation implies two elementary and contradictory
gestures. In order to accentuate the contrast which implicitly exists between
the gallery and its urban environment, the façade is barricaded using planks of
wood found on the wasteland. Inside, an aperture has pierced the floor in such
a way as to suggest that it is passageway to a much larger architectural
complex. Each of these interventions underlines the idea of the existence of an
intermediary space, an accessible and/or closed space, one potentially a source
of stories and tales.
